Our Vision, Values & Ethos

As a school community, we believe our children possess unique qualities and talents; as such they have the right to succeed, recognise their own potential, and develop who they are, in a nurturing and caring environment.

Our school ethos is firmly rooted in our values.

Oxley Primary School is a warm, caring and inclusive community where every child is welcomed, valued and encouraged to flourish. We celebrate diversity, champion equality and create an environment where children feel happy, confident and excited to learn.

Our broad and engaging curriculum inspires curiosity, encourages children to embrace new challenges and equips them with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need for the future. Co-designed by teachers and pupils, it provides opportunities for enquiry, creativity and independent learning, enabling every child to discover their strengths and achieve their full potential.

We want every child to develop a lifelong love of learning and make the most of the opportunities the world has to offer. Our values are woven through everything we do, helping children to become independent and resilient learners who believe in themselves and hold high expectations for what they can achieve.

From their very first day in our Early Years setting, we place great importance on speech, language and communication. We support children in developing a rich vocabulary so they can confidently share their ideas, express their emotions and talk about their learning. This focus continues throughout their time at Oxley, helping children to think deeply, reflect thoughtfully and apply their knowledge and skills across a range of contexts.

The physical and emotional wellbeing of our children is at the heart of our curriculum. We provide opportunities for them to grow in confidence, develop positive relationships and deepen their spiritual, moral, social and cultural understanding.
