Attendance and Absence
At Oxley Primary, we work with parents and carers to support good attendance and to reduce absence. Regular attendance helps children build strong friendships, maintain continuity in learning, and develop the routines that support their wellbeing. When pupils attend school consistently, they are better able to engage with lessons, complete classwork, and make progress over time.
If your child is absent, please contact the school as soon as possible and provide the reason for the absence. Where appropriate, we will ask for supporting information in line with our attendance procedures. If your child is unwell, it is important to follow medical advice and keep us updated about their expected return date, so we can plan effectively and ensure any missed learning can be supported.
We understand that families may face challenges that affect attendance, and we are here to help. If you are concerned about your child’s attendance or there are circumstances that may impact regular attendance, please speak to us early. Together, we can discuss practical support and agree next steps, including strategies to remove barriers and encourage your child to attend school every day.
